Hello Dear Friends Welcome to Gadgetcrispin today in this article we are talking about Windows 12: Everything We know So Far Including Release Date. Microsoft, a major player in the technology industry, is probably modifying how it provides big updates to Windows once more.

Which could imply that Windows 12 will be released in 2024. The following major version of Windows will now be released in 2024 as Microsoft returns to a three-year release schedule. Three weeks ago, rumors began to surface that despite Microsoft having only released Windows 11 late last year, the software giant was already beginning work on its successor, Windows 12.

Windows 12: Everything We know So Far Including Release Date

Microsoft introduced a new version of Windows last year after a long time, which is controversial Windows 11, and now the company is rumored to launch Windows 12 in a couple of years.

Windows 12 came into the spotlight when a reliable source revealed Microsoft’s new release cycle, but the company is yet to confirm all these details, and it officially didn’t say anything about Windows 12.

Windows 12: Everything We know So Far Including Release Date

It sounds like Microsoft is doing away with major annual updates, and instead, we’re going to get a big new version of Windows every three years, similar to what happened before Windows 10.

Microsoft hasn’t officially announced a new version of Windows, or even this new release cycle, so there’s a lot we don’t know. Still, it’s never too early to start looking ahead, so let’s talk about what we do and don’t know about Windows 12 – if it even ends up existing.

However, Windows Central also claims that Microsoft’s new development cadence is designed to deliver more new features to Windows 11 with increasing frequency over the next year.

Windows 10 was updated twice a year with significant new features, as opposed to a significant release of features every three years in a new Windows version.

Windows 12: Everything We know So Far Including Release Date

Microsoft still intends to keep Windows 11 current in the years to come, along with the release of the following version of Windows in 2024.

In recent months, the software developer has backed off from its initial pledge to release significant annual updates for Windows 11 in favour of releasing key features when they become available.

The upcoming major upgrade, 22H2, was just finalised by Microsoft and is presently anticipated to release in September or October.

With this meta, we can assume that Windows 12 will arrive in 2024 because Windows 11 launched in 2021, and its last major update will come in 2023, which is expected to be codenamed Sun Valley 3.

Besides, the company is already working on the 2H22 version (Sun Valley 2) of Windows 11, which is expected to launch in October this year. And October is the month of Windows, so Windows 12 would take place in October 2024.

Once Windows 12 is released, it’ll almost certainly be free for a while. Microsoft will be understandably keen to get as many people onto the new OS as possible.

Windows 12 Features and Other Details

As I mentioned in my Windows 11 review, I don’t think it’s finished yet and I don’t recommend you upgrade from Windows 10 unless you like the revamped design. Native Android app support (a major advertised new feature) is still nascent and underwhelming.

The Widgets menu isn’t much use; and the way Teams is integrated into Windows 11 not only fails to make a case for why you should use Teams, it actively makes me dislike the video-conferencing app.

As Windows starts testing upcoming features in its Insider Program, Windows 12 will get some features that we already saw in insider previews, such as new search icons and many more. Besides, there will be other new features too.

That being said, many of the features that were planned for the now-scrapped Sun Valley 3 client release will ship as part of one of these Moments on top of Sun Valley 2, instead of in a dedicated new release of the Windows client in the fall of 2023.

And although sources are not yet revealed, they all state that this information is coming from Microsoft. Allegedly, Windows 12 will be a very different operating system.

You might be wondering if this update will be free or paid; so currently, there is no information regarding this, but we can expect it to be payable because, with this upgrade, Microsoft will be able to provide many new features.
