The Chinese smartphone brand Realme is all set to launch its Realme 9i 5G. The upcoming handset from Realme will be launched on August 18. Realme has recently dropped its teaser on Twitter and called the upcoming handset “The 5G Rockstar”.

Meanwhile, Realme 9i powered by Snapdragon 680 SoC and featuring triple rear cameras was launched in India this January. It runs Android 11 with Realme UI 2.0 and sports a 6.6-inch full-HD+ display.

The Realme 9i 5G launch will take place on August 18 in India. In an invite, Realme announced the next phone in the Realme 9 series is its attempt to “seize the opportunity” referring to the recent allocation of the 5G spectrum.

The Realme 9i 5G is essentially a 5G counterpart of the Realme 9i, which was launched earlier this year. In addition to making the announcement on the launch, Realme also shared key specifications about the Realme 9i 5G.

Realme, via Twitter, has teased the launch of the upcoming Realme 9i 5G. As mentioned earlier, the handset is being called as ‘The 5G Rockstar’ by the Chinese tech company.

The smartphone will launch on August 18 at 12:30pm. The Realme 9i 5G will feature a MediaTek Dimensity 810 5G chipset. The handset is also said to come with a “massive battery” and a triple rear camera setup.

Furthermore, the aspect ratio of the Realme 9i is 20.1:9 so that you can enjoy vivid and crystal clear visuals while watching videos, playing games, or streaming movies online..

Realme says it will be packed with a “massive battery” and an AI Triple camera setup. The exact details weren’t revealed by the brand. What it also showcased was the design of the device which shows that it flat sides with the power button on the right.

The three cameras can be seen placed individually at the back. No other specifications of the Realme 9i 5G have been revealed as of now.

However, unlike its 4G counterpart, the Realme 9i 5G’s rear cameras aren’t placed inside a camera island, and due to the flat design, these appear to be protruding more.

The image also confirms the presence of a power button on the 9i 5G’s right-side frame, which will double up as a fingerprint scanner.

Talking about its 4G counterpart, it sports a 6.6-inch IPS LCD full HD+ display with 1080 × 2408 pixel resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. Moreover, the display panel has peak brightness levels of 480 nits.

It is powered by the Snapdragon 680 chipset coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. In addition, the storage is expandable up to 1TB via a dedicated microSD card slot.

The Realme 9i carries a price tag of Rs. 13,999 for the base 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. The handset also has a 6GB + 128GB model that is priced at Rs. 15,999. The phone comes in Prism Black and Prism Blue colour variants.

To recall, the smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 680 SoC and sports a triple rear camera setup. The smartphone runs Android 11 with Realme UI 2.0 and sports a 6.6-inch full-HD+ display.

The Realme 9i 5G launch event will kick off at 11.30 am on August 18. The company said it will live-stream the event on YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter via its channels.
