Hello Dear Friends Welcome to Gadgetcrispin today in this article we are talking about Instagram Is Taking Back Step on Full-Screen Home Feed. Recently Instagram announced today that new video posts that are shorter than 15 minutes will now be shared as Reels. Videos posted prior to this change will remain as videos and won’t become Reels.

The new fullscreen feed will reportedly be phased out within the next week or two, and the number of recommended posts that users will encounter will reportedly be reduced, as first reported by Platformer.

After experiencing strong criticism, Meta-owned Instagram has decided to roll back some recent changes to the product, including a full-screen home feed and temporarily reduce recommended posts.

Instagram is reportedly taking a back step on some recently rolled features that make it look like a short video platform, TikTok, due to a backlash, which was started by well-known Instagram influencers.

Previously, Instagram announced that it is experimenting with a new full-screen feed view, which it made available for many users. And this also means that platform wants to make its feed like TikTok.

Meta-Owned Instagram Will Roll Back Some Features

According to TechCrunch, the photo-sharing platform’s head Adam Mosseri revealed the news in an interview with Platformer and said Instagram will phase out a test that turned users’ home feeds into a TikTok-like full-screen experience that prioritised video in the coming weeks.

The report also mentioned that it will temporarily reduce the number of recommended posts users see as it plans to improve and rework its algorithms.

“I am glad we took a risk — if we are not failing every once in a while, we are not thinking big enough or bold enough,” Mosseri was quoted as saying in the interview.

The news comes a day after Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that about 15% of content in Facebook feeds are served by Meta’s AI and that number is even a little bit higher on Instagram. Zuckerberg went on to note that the company expects these numbers to double by the end of next year.

Mosseri told Newton that Instagram will temporarily reduce the number of recommended posts that users see but didn’t specify by how much, in order to get better at ranking and presenting recommendations to users. Once Instagram improves its recommendation algorithm, it will start to grow again, Mosseri says.

    Instagram Users Downvoted the Changes

Mosseri’s official statement, “When you discover something in your feed that you didn’t follow before, there should be a high bar — it should just be great; you should be delighted to see it. And I don’t think that’s happening enough right now.

So I think we need to take a step back, in terms of the percentage of feed that are recommendations, get better at ranking and recommendations, and then — if and when we do — we can start to grow again.”

Mosseri also reiterated that the trend toward users watching more video is real and pre-dated the rise of TikTok. However, he admits that Instagram users disliked the recent design changes in the app.

“For the new feed designs, people are frustrated and the usage data isn’t great,” says Mosseri. “So there I think that we need to take a big step back, regroup, and figure out how we want to move forward.”

Why is Instagram changing my feed?

The change to your feed was made possible by the new 9:16 ratio, which replaced the standard square 1:1 ratio and alternative ratios that went up to 4:5. Mosseri shared that implementing taller images and videos is the company’s way of making the Instagram experience even more immersive.

What is the new Instagram Update 2022?

In February 2022, Instagram rolled out an update which enabled users to like stories without sending a DM. This implies that you can ‘like’ an image or video shared as a story and it won’t appear on the user’s DM list. The like notification will appear on their viewers’ list below the story itself.

Can you see who viewed your Instagram profile?

Instagram doesn’t allow users to see who views their profile. So if you look through someone’s profile and don’t like or comment on a post, there’s no way for them to know who sees the pictures.

Can someone see how many times you viewed their Instagram story?

The good thing is you can see who’s viewed your Instagram Story in general, even though you can’t see the number of times they have viewed it or even when they viewed it. To check out the people looking at your Story, tap on your profile picture to access your most recent Story and swipe up
