    This feature is called Dark mode on Desktop and Dark theme on mobile devices. When you browse in Dark mode or Dark theme in Chrome, your homepage, toolbar, settings, and some other pages will be dark.

    Google Chrome’s latest update offers its audience bug fixes and a few new features. It has announced Chrome 104’s upgrade to the stable channel for Windows and Mac.

    ChromeOS 104 introduces proper dark and light themes that touch every aspect of the user interface. This includes the shelf, app launcher, Files app, and the backgrounds of various settings pages.

    The Launcher is now more compact and easier on the eye. In addition, one can do a quick search for Android apps from the Play Store.

    With the update, month and day now appear to the left of time in the shelf. A click now opens up the monthly calendar. Here, one can also view all the lined up events by tapping on a day. One can also open up Google Calendar PWA (Progressive Web Apps) with an extra click.

    ChromeOS 104 also has an “auto” setting to automatically shift its color scheme between light and dark theme depending on the time of day, complete with matching wallpaper options that can subtly shift along with it.

    With ChromeOS 104 update, Google has also made some adjustments to the month and day placement in the shelf. They now appear at the left of the time. Clicking on it opens the calendar and it now also has the ability to show your all the events day-wise.

    After updating, you’ll notice that the month and day now appear to the left of the time in the shelf. Tapping opens a monthly calendar with the ability to tap a day to see all events, with an additional click opening the Google Calendar PWA. You can see other months and quickly return to “Today.”This takes up the same size as Quick Settings, while any available alerts appear just above. Notifications from the same sender are now grouped together, while there are bigger touch targets for alert actions.

    Gallery has been revamped with a purple icon, and can open PDFs, fill out forms, sign important documents, highlight texts, and more.

    Google will now let one set of wallpapers from the Google Photos library. The new feature lets you select a particular album and set it as the wallpaper, where the background changes on a daily basis.

    One can choose the device theme based on convenience (auto-switching is also available). The screen saver comes with three styles: Slide show, Feel the breeze, and Float on by.

    Here’s how you can change your display theme in ChromeOS 104:

    Google initially started testing a compact version of the launcher with select ChromeOS users. With the update, the company is rolling it out on a wider scale.

    Along with that, the quick search feature has also been updated with the ability to search Android apps from Google Play Store.

    Step 1 : Go to Settings

    Step 2 : Select Personalization

    Step 3 : Select Set your wallpaper & style

    Step 4 : Select Light, Dark, or Auto mode based on your preference
